Utilizing an evidence-based model, our Child Development Program helps underserved youth realize their potential. The program provides engaging educational projects to help students become academically competitive, arts &amp; science to build confidence, discipline and resilience, and consistent character development. Through active learning projects, with an emphasis on STEM programs, children receive hands-on academic instruction in a fun setting. Student grades and school assessments in reading and math are tracked and tutors are assigned.</image:caption>

He moved to Washington, D.C. over thirty years ago as a freshman at Ivy College. Right after graduation, he attended World University’s School of Dentistry. Before opening Keene Dental in 1994, he worked for free clinics and some of the finest practices in the District. He is part of the 123 Dental Association and stays up-to-date on the latest dental discoveries. When not striving to keep his patients happy and healthy, he’s enjoys hiking with his family in Rock Creek Park.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Cynthia’s degree in computer programming from Temple and a successful career in professional finance coupled with the experience of owning a prosperous local business made Cynthia the perfect candidate to serve as Treasurer of the Giving of Self Partnership. Over the years, Cynthia’s devotion and commitment to the Giving of Self Partnership grew, as did her responsibility. In 2008 she accepted the opportunity to serve as Executive Director, a position to which she loyally and faithfully remains committed. Cynthia is a lifelong member of the community and has spent over twenty years dedicated to the growth and achievement of the Giving of Self Partnership. She is humbled and grateful to serve, work and give back to the community that has had a major impact on her life and in the lives of so many in her family. Cynthia is respected for her strength and perseverance and she is loved for the kindness and joy that she shares with so many.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Leadership - Minister Julian C Shanks Jr. - Chairman</image:title>
      <image:caption>Educated in the Philadelphia public school system and graduated from Central High School in 1981. After completing his education, Julian enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served until 1989. Since 1991, Julian has worked most of his life as a Communication Technician, working for Bell Atlantic (Verizon), and has been a contractor for Comcast, Dish Network, as well as other CLECs. He is certified in Cable, Satellite, and Telephone communications, and is trained in the installation of network infrastructures. For the past 10 years, Julian has been employed as a Field Operations Manager by CSL Services INC. a sewer and storm water metering company serving the East coast, Las Vegas, and LA California. After years of service and support to Giving of Self Partnership, Julian became a member of the Board of Directors in 2011 under the leadership of its Chairman, the late Deacon Joseph Burke. Julian served as Secretary until 2019 when he was elected to Chairman of the Board.</image:caption>

Dr. Thomas J Ritter, Giving Of Self Partnership (GOSP) is a community based human service agency with a food bank, a youth summer enrichment component as well as a senior center among other programs at the Ritter Resource Center. ﻿ ﻿ DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The position of GOSP Volunteer serves to assist in the Giving of Self Partnership, Ritter Resource Center. As a Volunteer your primary duties are to assist in the Food Bank. Services may be needed in other areas of the community center as well as the Senior Center and Administrative office. All of which are located within the Ritter Resource Center. JOB DESCRIPTION: Food Bank - Assist in stocking, bagging weighing and handing out food. Senior Center - Assist in set-up and clean-up as wll as aid in other activities that may take place. Administrative Offices - Make copies, pass out flyers, assist and help promote events and activities in the community center. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to lift 30 lbs. Must be a caring, outgoing and responsible individual. Must have a pleasant demeanor, patience and problem solving ability. Must be eager to serve your community. Must be dependable and reliable. REPORT TO: Linkage Coordinator TIME COMMITMENT: One day per week for 3 hours (at least). SUPPORT: Training for this position is provided. In addition, the Linkage Coordinator will be available for question and assistance. AGE REQUIREMENT: Must be at least 16 years old.
