Seniors Citizens Nutrition and Activity Program

Giving Of Self Partnership provides opportunities for person’s age 60 and older to participate in a variety of activities, field trips, educational activities and congregate noon meals in our seniors center.

The Senior Nutrition Program is designed to promote better health in our community for elderly citizens who are 60 and over and have the greatest economic need by providing nutritious meals, supplemented by nutrition education programs to encourage more healthful eating habits at home. The Senior Nutrition Program encourages seniors to attend one of the nutrition workshops in our seniors center.

Attendees also participate in activities planned by program staff to ease the isolation and loneliness that sometimes occurs with aging.

Who should be referred? The Senior Center is open to our community residents age 60 and over.

Services provided include: Various activities including bingo, nutrition education, and nutritious congregate meals are available. Round-trip transportation to and from the centers may be available to seniors at no cost. Services also include are linkage and referral program to assist with rent rebates, LIHEAP, weatherization assistance, banking strategies, income tax filing and food stamp assistants.
